About Us

Schurz UMC, a ministry of the California-Nevada Conference of The United Methodist Church, is a thriving faith community located in Schurz. We are committed to nurturing a welcoming environment where people from all walks of life can gather to worship, learn, and grow in their faith.

Our Mission

At Schurz UMC, our mission is to glorify God and serve our community in the name of Christ. We strive to create a place where individuals can experience the love of God, find spiritual nourishment, and build lasting relationships with fellow believers.

Worship Service

Join us every Sunday for our uplifting and inspiring worship service. Our worship team leads us in heartfelt praise and worship, and our pastor delivers powerful messages rooted in biblical teachings. We invite you to come as you are and experience the transformative power of God's presence.

Church Programs and Ministries

At Schurz UMC, we offer a variety of programs and ministries designed to meet the diverse needs of our congregation and community. Some of the key initiatives include:

Sunday School

Our Sunday School program provides an engaging and educational environment for children and youth to learn about the Bible and grow in their faith. Dedicated teachers guide students through age-appropriate lessons, incorporating interactive activities and discussions.

Bible Study

Join one of our Bible study groups to dive deeper into God's Word and connect with fellow believers on a more personal level. We offer various study topics and formats to accommodate different interests and schedules.

Mission Outreach

Through our mission outreach programs, we actively seek to make a positive impact in our local community and beyond. From organizing food drives to volunteering at homeless shelters, we believe in putting our faith into action and serving those in need.

Youth Ministry

Our vibrant youth ministry provides a supportive and nurturing environment for teenagers to grow spiritually, build lifelong friendships, and develop leadership skills. We organize regular events, retreats, and service opportunities to help young people deepen their faith and make a difference in the world.

Community Events

We regularly host community events that bring people together for fun, fellowship, and spiritual enrichment. From picnics to holiday celebrations, these events foster a sense of belonging and strengthen the bonds within our faith community.
